My name is Dawn, and this is my health journey with microgreens as of August 2024.

My body has been pre-diabetic for at least 15 years, and who does not have high cholesterol? Almost no one in America. Thankfully, the only medications I take are asthma or pain-related, due to a severe back injury in November 2023.

For around 10 years I have tried to boost my health by taking daily CoQ-10, vitamin supplements (DoTerra Lifelong Vitality Pack), lavender, lemon, and peppermint essential oils internally to control allergies with the occasional Zyrtec when they get extremely bad.

In January 2024, I had some concerning lab results and was referred to a rheumatologist. I saw him February 2024, and he added B-12 to my daily medications.

I have not been the most active individual, and it went to nothing due to the back injury. In February 2024, I began controlled walking (supported with a walker and progressed to a combination of the walker and walking sticks) as daily exercise. I have progressed from struggling to get 500 steps to a minimum 6,500 (still controlled walking) steps daily. At the same time, to support my long unused muscles, I added essential aminos as a post-exercise drink (Optavia Essential Amino Acid Blend).

In April 2024 to rejuvenate my metabolism, I began a daily tonic first thing every morning on an empty stomach. It consists of turmeric, fresh ground black pepper, Ceylon cinnamon, ginger, cayenne pepper, honey, and lemon juice in 3 ounces of hot water. I do not eat or drink anything else for at least 20 minutes.

5 to 7 days a week I consume a green protein smoothie for breakfast containing turmeric, fresh ground black pepper, ginger, ground flax seed, 5 to 8 servings of microgreens, 1/2 frozen banana, 1/4 cup frozen blueberries, 20 to 30 grams protein powder, and 11 ounces of coconut water (occasionally mixed with an additional 1/2 cup 2% milk). Then an additional 2 to 3 servings of microgreens with my remaining meals throughout the day.

August 2024, I had a follow up appointment with my rheumatologist. Full labs were done prior to the appointment to compare with those completed earlier in 2024. He was extremely pleased with the lab results. Cholesterol and pre-diabetic numbers have lowered dramatically, and the blood issues for which I was referred to him are out of the critical range they were in February.

God made our bodies with the ability to heal themselves through proper nutrition and movement. We have to do our part by giving it the nutrients and exercise needed to allow His creation to work as He intended. Even with this however, sometimes medical intervention is necessary. Thank you, Jesus, for walking with me on this journey.
